eBay Up for bid is an original vintage pre-owned 1940s Spalding Leather Baseball Glove Mitt George ‘Snuffy’ Stirnweiss. Found at an estate sale of a baseball collector of memorabilia. This is an original Spalding Genuine, Leather Fielders Mitt with a Barrel web. Lower Palm is branded: with ‘Spalding’ early Baseball Logo and ‘154′ below the logo. Towards the pinkie finger is branded with ‘George “Snuffy” Stirmweiss’ signature mark. Glove measures approx. 8″ tall & 10″ wide. The glove is in overall good condition with an intact liner and good edge binding. No cuts, holes, or tears. Will defer any cleaning and conditioning to the buyer’s discretion or an easy and satisfying restoration project. George Henry “Snuffy” Stirnweiss was an American professional baseball second baseman. He played in Major League Baseball between 1943 and 1952, spending most of his MLB career with the New York Yankees, and spending his last couple of seasons playing with the St. Louis Browns and the Cleveland Indians. A batting champion in 1945 and a two-time All-Star, he played a role with three different World Series championship squads during his time in New York.
