Item description:Wonderful handkerchief vase in vitrified ceramic, entirely hand-modelled on a lathe, enamelled and decorated by hand with an airbrush, mid-20th century design with an abstract decoration with futuristic elements, signed under the base by the Fanciullacci Brothers manufacture, catalog number and place of production, “Italy”. Made in the first half of the 20th century, around 1940.Useful information for the evaluation of the object:We have placed, just below this description photos of some vases from the manufacturer of Fanciullacci Bros with modern designs and abstract or stylized decorations with futuristic elements, offered on 1stDibs at very high prices, ranging from a minimum of almost €600 up to requests of €2,253 per the larger vessels, to give an idea of the value of the ceramics made by this famous manufacturer, especially with regards to the design productions of the mid-20th century, with stylized or abstract decorations with futuristic elements, as for our vase.Final thoughts on the subject:The futurist production of the Fanciullacci manufacture is by far the most important of all, and the one that received the highest auction estimates. The shape of the vase is extremely rare, it is very difficult to find similar handkerchief vases, note the beauty of the four pleats at the corners, with a rather large drapery which was then folded by hand on the corners, which protrude slightly from the perimeter of the main shape of the vase, a real treat for art lovers and collectors. A very important Italian factory, boasting various auction results, hundreds of collectors and the collaborations of many important Italian artists, including including Vincenzo Ossani, Lorenzo and Giovacchino Canneri, Dino and Mario Scappini, Bruno Bagnoli, Benvenuto Staderini, Aldo Londi and Bruno Cini. Production definitively ceased in 1988, some of the manufacturing works are today preserved in the Faenza Ceramics Museum.
